Life After Release: User Adoption- Part II

Hurray! We Went to Production, But Now What?

· Tips and Tricks

In the first part of our two-part series on gaining user adoption, we discussed the importance of project involvement, training sessions and training resources (check it out HERE in case you missed it!) . Now we will examine how ongoing user support and continual optimization can drive user adoption.

Ongoing Support

The next method to increase user adoption is to be sure to have regular check-ins with a small group of power users or system administrators. These check-ins serve as an opportunity for the group to discuss challenges with adopting the developed solution and strategies to improve organizational capabilities to help manage change. The discussions will establish a sense of support and trust with users, who will not feel lost during this transitional period. We recommend initially scheduling these sessions on a weekly basis and then tapering the meeting frequency based on increased adoption.

Continued Improvement

Another important aspect of user adoption is valuing users’ opinions and feedback. As consultants at MXA Solutions, we always strive to improve the process and experience for our clients. The feedback of our clients is of utmost importance - their concerns are our concerns - and establishing an effective feedback mechanism is essential for any Salesforce project. Through continuous feedback and improvement, we ensure project success, positive user experiences, and sustainable user adoption through the development of new, value-add features.
